About
Cherish is a versatile harpist with years of experience in a wide variety of musical styles and settings. Equally at home on the concert stage as in the recording studio, Cherish can be heard performing with local orchestra’s, teaching harp lessons, or pedal sliding her way through a jazz jam session.
Recent honors include performing in the Christmas at Belmont televised concerts at the Fisher Center of Preforming Arts and performing in Belmont’s Instrumental Honors recital. She has played alongside artists such as CeCe Winans and Michael W. Smith, and has graced the stage at venues such as the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in Nashville Tennessee, and Sanders Theatre at Harvard University in Boston Massachusetts.
Cherish was a member of the Atlanta Harp Ensemble for 10 years, during which she participated in winning the Harp Carnivale Student Harp Ensemble Contest and performed at the American Harp Society’s 41st National Conference, held in New Orleans. She has attended several music programs, including the Young Artists Harp Seminar, as well as abroad in Italy, attending Festival Suoni d'Abruzzo for harp and piano. Exploring her love for Celtic and Old-Time music, she attended the Walker Family Band Camp for banjo.
She has studied under the tutelage of Susan Brady, Charles Overton, Angela Schwarzkopf, Kimberly Rowe, Sarah Crocker, Paula Bressman, Ruth Bennet, and Matt Endahl for harp, Silvia Cattaneo for piano, Scott Manring and Ben Valine for banjo.
She obtained her Bachelors of Commercial Music from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee for her Masters in Harp Performance.
When Cherish is not playing music, you can find her dirt biking with her family, making one of a kind creations on the pottery wheel or curled up with her cat, reading a good book.
